Biography

I was born and raised on Silver Star Mountain in Vernon, BC. I spent my time playing in the trees, singing to my horse and listening to my dad sing the folk music I love, John Denver or Gordon Lightfoot.  I studied classical style from a young age, learning techniques of good singing.   Although, I also learned guitar as a teen, my voice is still my main instrument, and I have now learned to use my voice to reach others and encourage healing.

I have so many things I want to do in this life, I couldn’t really decide what I wanted to be when I grew up ... so I figured the best place to start was with what I knew!  After high school, I moved to Vancouver and continued my voice training in the Music Diploma Program at Capilano College.  I then started my own healing journey and returned to college to enter the Music Therapy Program.  I knew it was the perfect fit for me, being a natural caretaker as well as musician.  I returned home to the Okanagan to complete my Internship and then began a private practice.   I worked in palliative care at the Vernon Hospice House and facilitated the Vernon Cancer Relaxation and Support Group.

I spent several years in Vernon, then in the north of BC, playing at local coffee houses, recording music with friends, facilitating songwriters circles and hosting  music nights.  I love to get involved wherever I live with community organizations and offer my music  for many local events.  This experience has helped to refine my style and I feel more comfortable now in my music and in my own skin and it shows in my performance.  I now have made my home in Vancouver and continue to get involved in community and share my music.

I continue this musical life journey and I pray you find your heartsong and share it with all those around you.
